Getting Here

It is around two hours away from Medellin, depending on traffic. The most common route is by a bus bound for Guatape from Terminal del Norte in Medellin. However, do not take the bus all the way until its final terminal in Guatape; ask your driver to drop you off at Ibuku Hotel's entrance on the main road (via Guatape - El Penol) or any Luxe entrance nearby as landmark then take a tuk-tuk for the final leg.[22] Buses are frequent and comfortable thus making this an easy option for those without a car.

If you are driving a rental car or taking a private taxi from Jose Maria Cordova International Airport (MDE), then this is how long it takes ,about 60 to 90 minutes. The airport is located at Rionegro which happens to be on the way going towards Guatape. The main road here is all nicely paved good condition winding through some scenic green hills but however final access road off of the main highway down to hotel property an unpaved dirt track. It’s also steep & can get muddy(if raining). If you’re renting a car small SUV or just something w/ higher clearance highly recommended over compact sedan so as not to scrape bottom nor get stuck(rainy season).
